missing you

Hi guys! I've missed blogging here so much. I am literally crying while writing this. That's because I look back at when I was blogging here every day last summer, and how this was such a big part of my life. I used to sit at my black chair beside my desk all night, until 3-4 am and just blog and be on twitter. I did not realise it then, but that was a time in my life that made memories. I miss it. I miss you. I am getting all sentimental, so I'll stop here. I guess I'm not even trying to get that time back, because it will never be the same again, but I will try to make new memories with you. (I have been blogging on malenevo.blogg.no and still am, but it is not the same)

A picture of me, taken in December. We'll talk soon!

Knitted all the year

Hey y'all!

I am a knit-all-year-person. So even thought it's summer I wear knitted clothes. Partly because the summer is cold here I live in West Norway and partly because I live for knit. Today my friend told me that when she sees knitted sweaters she thinks of me and her grandmother. I don't know if I should be flattered or not when being compared to her granny, but I think I'll take it as a compliment; I have a 'thing'!

Ahh, this sweater is one of those basic-but-not-so-basic-sweaters Bik Bok are known to have. If they had not used two different colours, this sweater would be boring. The mix of black and white makes it grey, but not just grey.

I am personally a huge fan of patterns, especially aztec. It can pimp up any outfit. This sweater I would wear with basic black skinnyjeans, because if I had worn some coloured jeans or even worse, patterned jeans, that would just draw attention from this beautiful pattern, and then create mess.

These sweaters are so comfy! They are ultimate for a night in the coach with some friend or your boyfriend. Some simple leggings or actually anything underneath this oversized sweater would do.

I am so near to buying this. This oversize cosy cardigan is exactly what I'm looking for. I tried this on at the mall and there are extra fabric at the front to wrap around yourself. And it is in wine red, which is my favourite colour when it comes to clothes.

By the way, I am soon doing a summeroutfits post where I post different outfits from this summer. Stay tuned!

Peplum

Peplum is ultimate for you who want to have shapes. By wearing peplum you achieve the narrow-waist-broad-hips-look. Here are some different peplumclothings:

This peplumtop from Bik Bok with cut-out-back is pretty fine, because the balance between the basic front and the bandagelooking back, really works. Works great with some skinnyjeans, eather some basic denim ones, or some coloured ones. I would definitely wear them with coloured jeans, that would look so fresh.

This top from Bik Bok is chic with it's mix of bandeau and peplum. It gives it extra shape. Bandeautops are unfortunately hard to wear, I mean, with them always sliding down, so just be aware of not buying too big. I would wear the patterned ones with basic black skinnyjeans, but the plain ones I would wear with coloured jeans, like I would with the ones over.

This is a love-hate dress. Either you like the lace between the breasts and the peplum or you don't care for it. I like it, I think it pimps up the whole dress. This dress is great for summercocktailparties.

Oh I love the back of this dress. It's so beautiful and elegant. This is pretty alike the one over, with the mix of peplum and lace. The summercoloured ones I would definitely wear to more formal bbqs. Perfect for summer.

What you see here, is two variants of a dress; a short, teenagely one and a classy, womanly one. If the peplum hadn't been longer on the back, I think this dress would be too straight and boring. It's these little things.

Jeans

Jeans are pretty hard to choose. It's all up to how tall, short, wide or narrow you are. And how your thighs are compared to your calves. For some people, boot-cut are the right choice  and for others (like me) skinny-jeans with stretch all the way are the right choice. It's all up to your figure.
I just have to say that DR DENIM-jeans are great. They are stretchy and so comfortable. I hate it when the jeans just feel like they just do not fit and like they just are there. We all want that "OMG" feeling when putting on a pair of jeans. I got that with DR DENIMs.

DR DENIM - Kissy Denim Leggings.
Obviously, these jeans does not look as good on me as on the models, but it is not so far away. Because of the elastic fabric, these jeans are great. They are not as long at the leggings that it's a pile of fabric. No, this is perfectly made. Well, maybe not all perfectly for people with long legs (like me), because they are kind of short. But except from that, they are great. You may now think "oh, they must be so expensive". But think again, because they are as cheap as:

Pepe Jeans - Quayle Jeans
First, I just have to say that this model is rocking these bootcuts! I honestly have to say that if you don't have the legs for it, do not wear bootcuts. Either you are wow-ing in them, or it is simply dreadful. Pardon the harsh way of saying it, but girls who look dreadful in bootcuts, you have to realise it someday. Anyway, these are nice, but unfortunately not so cheap:

The Break

As you probably have noticed, I have taken a 11 months long pause from this blog.. That was necessary considering the fact that I have been so busy with school, renovating my room and more. But because of all this absence, I got the best grades I could imagine. But I have worked hard for them I have to say.

BUT NOW I AM BACK!

I will get back now I've missed you guys! But I do think it is better if I post whenever I feel like ut, so I post conducted posts inbetween instead of a halfcrappy post very often day. Do you agree?

Runwaydreamz

Runwaydreamz shorts were popular this summer. Teenage girls just love them. They are cool, no one can deny that fact.

This is the one that's most used, and that's on most girls "want"-lists. It is creative. The designers have utilized the trend with more colours at one clothing - but without any pattern.

As said many times before - aztec is in. I absolutely love aztec, it is so fresh and alive.

This is the more dark and - well, maybe not emo, but darktistic. Hot.

This is the plain blue colour. But the worn style make it so great and cool.

Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez has been my style icon for a long time. She has such a outstanding style and interpretation of fashion. Her style is so relaxed, but still conscious. Selena has this radiance at the red carpet. She's glowing - of both confidence and happiness. I keep admiring her legs. They look so long and strong. Selenas style reminds me a bit of Alex Russos: It looks so chill, like she just put something on that just happened to fit together, but I'm sure she has put some thought into every outfit.

Just look at this light, chilled out outfit. The bleached bag looks good with the pastelpink top.

Selena is really good at choosing jeans that fit her perfectly. Her legs looks so long here. And just look at that wonderful long knitted cardigan in aztec. Ahh.

This sofisticated look suits the pop sensation well.

Selena is rocking the grey/silver-style.

H&M Autumn & Winter Collection modeled by Lana Del Rey

H&M's Autumn/Winter collection is here. And Lana Del Rey is the new face. It doesn't come as a shock, because Lana Del Rey is so stylish.
"We were looking for a style icon and singer to model our autumn/winter 2012-13 collection and Lana Del Rey was the perfect choice," said H&M PR manager Chloe Bowers. "We think she shows our fall fashion in a very inspiring way. The theme of the campaign is a modern and feminine woman with a soft attitude. Curves and waist are important in autumn's silhouette."

H&M wrote this at their homepage about Lana Del Rey:

'She’s graced the cover of Vogue, inspired a best-selling handbag and been portrayed by top photographers. When it comes to marrying
music and style, Lana Del Rey is, by all definitions, the top of the pops. Yet, just two years ago, nobody knew who this American singer/songwriter was. Now she’s the star of H&M’s latest campaign.
It really is her. Lana Del Rey steps into the über-cool Wythe Hotel in Brooklyn and she is absolutely gorgeous. She is tiny, slight of frame, and, apart from her fascinating charisma – equal parts innocent girl and adult seductress – the 26-year-old is wearing a crisp men’s shirt, a varsity jacket, blue jeans and blue Converse high-top sneakers. Slightly dressed down from the more glamorous, urban and slightly sexier looks we’ve come to recognise her for – and which she has herself described as “Ghetto Monégasque,” “Gangster Nancy Sinatra” or “Lolita Lost in the Hood” – but nevertheless a stunner.

“I never had a defined style,” she explains over a hot drink in a quiet, thoughtful voice. “I wear lots of jeans, white Oxford shirts and white tennis dresses… But I also love beautiful diamonds and long acrylic nails.”

And that is perhaps the secret behind Lana Del Rey’s success, both musically and as a trendsetter. Focusing on the classic icons of the Americana wardrobe/songbook, she can pick and mix the best of different decades. She will draw on influences from jazz, folk and pop in her songs. And wear pieces inspired by the 1920s, 1950s or 1960s, for both men and women, when performing them.

It is almost unimaginable now, but just a few short years ago, the incredible Lana del Rey was still an unknown singer, trying to get by in New York City without a proper place to stay. Back then, she sang jazzy folk and pop at open-mic nights around Williamsburg and the Lower East Side.

Then on July 1, 2011, a sweet, melancholic clip set to a sad song about passionate love entitled Video Games landed on YouTube – the supernova that was to become a global phenomenon had been set in motion. Video Games was straight out of Lana Del Rey’s creative universe; it was she who’d edited the pictures of old Hollywood and of herself singing. Five months later the clip had spawned 20 million YouTube hits.

Lana Del Rey’s immediate success came, first and foremost, from the unique, nostalgic, yet fresh sound she’d managed to create. “I like to write about the way things used to be and paint pictures of my memories with beautiful words and melodies,” she says today of her hit album Born to Die, which has topped the iTunes charts in 19 different countries. ”I wanted the record to sound dark and glamorous... and remind me of the hot summertime. [My producers] filled the tracks with lush strings and sound effects like cicadas chirping and girls laughing.”

The music and DIY footage might’ve set things in motion, but soon the singer’s signature look was as well-known as her songs. The clothes could vary, but the bouffant hair, bee-stung lips, long acrylic nails (painted blood red on the day of our interview), even longer fake lashes and layers of shiny jewelry were always all there. “I know more about jewelry than I do about fashion,” Lana Del Rey confides. “And I love emeralds and diamonds.”

When asked about her style icons, she cites Lauren Bacall as a huge influence. “I love her because she’s a strong woman and her style embodies that. Her silhouettes have always been strong, clean and glamorous.”

London designer Christopher Kane, who just like Del Rey merges a nostalgic longing for innocent girlhood with a gritty urban feel, was one of the first to give her music a fashion insider push, using Video Games as the soundscape for his S/S 2012 show. Before long, one of her songs was also used for a Gossip Girl promo, and she was invited to sing at a Dior party. Earlier this year, she attended the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala as New York designer Joseph Altuzarra’s date, complete with a custom-made outfit. “Joseph wanted to design a dress for me that was dark and glamorous, like my music,” she said of the full-length chainmail-inspired creation. “He knew I liked to revel in my dark side so he also made me a cape that was sheer and black, but feminine and reminiscent of the 1940s.”

And this past spring, Del Rey received the highest fashion honour: the iconic British brand Mulberry launched the Del Rey – a bag inspired by the singer, and a true testament to how her style and talent has captured the world’s imagination.

This season, Lana Del Rey’s affinity with the fashion world is taken one step further as she stars in H&M’s fall/winter campaign, shot in New York City by superstar photographers Inez van Lamsveerde and Vinoodh Matadin. We get to meet Lana in the season’s trendy pastels, soft mohair knits, chunky earrings and floral prints. Needless to say, she looks stunning.

There is plenty of 1950s inspiration here, a decade Lana has a weak spot for: “I love the sturdy, rich materials that girls’ dresses were made of; the fabrics were luxurious and meant to last. The clothes reflect a time when things were new and beautiful.”

These days, wherever Lana Del Rey appears, be it on the front row, on America’s most popular talk shows or on the pages of a glossy fashion magazine, her appearance is always tinted by a certain dreamy sadness. As if the lost loves of her younger years haunt her wherever she goes and whatever she does. It is the same romantic nostalgia that we can hear in the trembling of her singing voice, and in the poetic lyrics she writes about a love so bright it threatens to burn you.

And perhaps it is this nostalgia that makes us all love Lana Del Rey so much. However much she experiments with her look, or whichever context she’s in, we recognize her by the rawness of her feelings – and the intimacy she creates by wearing those feelings on her sleeve. In a world of information overload, Lana Del Rey cuts through the noise and touches us with her honesty. She’s the perfect pop star – and fashion icon – for our times.'

Shoes for the fall

It's so rainy and wet outside now in the fall, so good shoes are really important. Almost every girl is either wearing Converse or some classy boots. That's what's hot right now. But later at the fall, Reeboks are back in.

Something that's very typical girls are to put beauty before health. But ever since Hunters came, girls don't have to do that. Hunters are elegant. These are the originals.

The colours on these classy boots are to die for. The flaming red is so feminin and the dark grey so timid. These types of boots I am afraid is not particulary popualar this fall.

Have you noticed someone suddenly has become taller? Then they might have gone for the trick with heel on sneakers. It's a simple trick to get taller without looking desperate. Wedge sneakers it is called.

This is some gorgeous high heeled boots. They are made for classy women. They have this shape that is attractive and so elegant. They reflect how fall 2012 is: elegant, simple and a hint of retro.

Fashion Tips

Here are some fashion tips, from me and from a fashion site:

When your clothes are too dresses-up for the occasion, just wear some converse, then it will be a perfect match.

A knitted sweater would rock a sweet light dress. It would pimp up the entire outfit.

High waists are for you with long legs stomachs. But boys don't like them, so watch out.

Outfits that's all light will make your personality look uncreative because of the zero contrast.

Bootcut jeans are great for you with pear shaped body, because then your legs will look longer and your hips and thigh nicer.

When wearing a lace top, it's best to throw a solid color camisole or tank underneath. Not everyone can pull off the "exposed bra" look.

If you want a sweet look, but don't want to wear creamy and light colour, wear lace.

If your legs are long and your stomach short, wear parkas for your stomach to look longer.

If you are broad-shouldered, don't wear tops without arms, they will just make you look bigger than you are.

One of the trendiest accessories right now are colorful, big earrings. Remember to keep the accessories to a
minimum when wearing them.

The biggest mistake in creating the perfect look can be choosing the wrong shoe.

If you choose to wear leggings, please be sure your shirt/top covers your bits and pieces. Nobody wants to see it and it's not a good look.

When it comes to cropped pants, wide leg openings make your legs look shorter. Try to keep the pants slim for a leg lengthening effect.

Your bottom and hips will always look thinner when you are dressed in a solid color (and it doesn't always have to be black).

Jackets in the fall

Jackets are a must now in the fall when it's getting cold and freezy.

Parkas is the ultimate fall jacket. It is warm and not to baggy. This parkas is pretty winter with the fur at the cap. The blue colour is wonderful. Just don't wear this parkas with jeans. It will be so messy.

This leather jacket has a different pattern at the shoulders which is cool. It's a kinda bossish jacket. It's like "Yo man, I own you" kinda style, but that's not bad, it's great. The small details in the inside and at the zippers makes the jacket complete.

This parkas is hoodish, it's chill and it's worn. It's not a typical parkas. Parkas are usually classy, clean and simple. And that makes this parkas to great. Gina Tricot often has the type of clothes that sticks out. That's what's so great about it.

This isn't a parkas, nor a coat or a leather jacket. This is a cotton jacket. It is gentle. It is pure simpleness.

This coat is sophisticated. Coats have always been - and will always be - old-lady-clothing. They are so un-teenagerish a clothing can be. But still, this one is nice.
